Kathmandu Blues & Roots along with Tarang Entertainment, are coming up with the latest edition of the ‘Kathmandu Blues & Roots 3’ festival on September 29 at Tangalwood.
The show is going to be headlined by Mukti and Revival, along with the bands The Well (Texas, USA), Newaz, The Midnight Riders, Spirit X, Millions Addict, Illusion, Gunla Bajan, and Ann So (France). The festival was started by Kathmandu Blues and Roots to provide assistance to people affected by 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. Besides, it has taken a mission to make Kathmandu a music destination for music lovers from all over the world.
The first edition of the festival supported people with Down Syndrome and the second edition support two people in their kidney transplant. This time, the festival had held an online band competition, and the winner, Millions Addict, is now provided with a platform to perform with big artists. Besides, the winning band has provided with an opportunity to record, mix and master a song with Skathi Records for free.
Blues is still an underground music in Nepal and KBNR wants to provide an outlet for the music lovers to come out and celebrate. Their mission is to make Kathmandu a music destination for music lovers from all over the world and to get more renowned and international artists here in Nepal. While it is a blues festival, it also aims to connect Kathmandu with its roots for Gunla Bajan, the traditional Newari music, shall be played.
Kathmandu Blues and Roots is on September 29 at Tangalwood, with gates opening from 12:30 PM and starting at 1 pm. It is a family-friendly event, and you can come along with your children.
